How Luma Dot Field works

Luma Dot Field is a native FxPlug 4 effect. You apply it to a clip or layer in Apple Motion or Final Cut Pro. It samples luminance from that source on your Mac and draws a field of dots. It does not upload media, create an account, or contact a Tent Studios server.

Permissions

The installer writes two folders in your user account (~/Library/Plug-Ins/FxPlug/ and ~/Movies/Motion Templates.localized/). It does not need an administrator password. The wrapper application is sandboxed. The effect runs as a plug-in of Motion or Final Cut Pro.

We do not use your footage for anything. We never see it.
