Requirements

Apple Silicon Mac. macOS 13 or later. Apple Motion 6.2+ or Final Cut Pro 12.2+.

Intel Macs are not supported yet—the disk image is universal, but that path has not been verified. Luma Dot Field is not an After Effects plugin.

Installing

Quit Motion and Final Cut Pro first.

No administrator password. The effect lands in your user account:

~/Library/Plug-Ins/FxPlug/Luma Dot Field.app
~/Movies/Motion Templates.localized/Effects.localized/Tent Studios/Luma Dot Field/

Then open Motion or Final Cut Pro and look under Tent Studios.

To uninstall, open the installer again and click Uninstall.

The download is Developer ID signed and notarized by Apple. If macOS objects, right-click the installer and choose Open.

Mac model (Apple Silicon or Intel) and macOS version
Motion version, Final Cut Pro version, or both
Whether the installer finished, and whether the effect appears under Tent Studios
What you expected, and what happened instead

Please don’t send project files unless we ask. A screenshot of the inspector and the effect browser is usually enough.

There is no in-app updater. New versions arrive as a new disk image. If you bought on Gumroad, you will get the update email for that product.
